Job description

Our success has created continual opportunities to grow and we require an experienced Senior Software Engineer/Developer to code for advanced software development projects, provide input to the software architecture process and provide leadership/role modelling for junior software developer's.

In addition to having an excellent knowledge of best practice software development, you will be required to:

• Maintain superior knowledge and skills in all relevant software development technologies and methodologies;
• Assist and mentor team members to help improve their programming skills;
• Participate and encourage others to participate in training, and team building activities;
• Assist with other leadership duties as required.
• Code and debug applications in various software languages;
• Maintain and update Code Libraries;
• Ensure all code and documentation complies to company and industry standards;
• Support, maintain and document software functionality;
• Implement performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, and automation of company systems;
• Keep up-to-date with industry innovations, technology, and techniques;
• Maintain sound knowledge of front end graphical user interface design;
• Maintain sound knowledge of software testing and quality assurance.

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements you will need to be successful in this role are:

• University IT qualifications
• 4 years experience in software the following languages/frameworks
  • SQL
  • Ruby on Rails
  • PHP
  • JavaScript
  • HTML
  • Ajax
• Experience working independently and as part of a team
• Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently;
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment;
• Fluent in reading and writing English, while having a competent level of English listening and speaking ability.
